Ep 4. Business Conversation With Our Partners At The Shuler Group

Josh and Sylvia have in studio guests, our partners Dawn and Mark at The Shuler Group. We discuss business development, consulting, and the benefits of utilizing your strengths and those of your team.

[2:45] What is the problem that you solve?

[3:57] Bring everyone’s strengths to the table to work together. Don’t take your gifts for granted.

[5:30] Recognize, acknowledge, and validate others talents and strengths.

[8:17] When you don’t think you’re valued or making a contribution, that’s when engagement fades.

[11:23] Value of people as well as each other. Recognize that different strengths are actually complementary skills.

[15:15] Diversity of thought is critically important to success. Individual experiences, perspective, and understanding is what helps us make decisions.

[18:10] If it ain’t broke, break it. -Apple

[20:00] We are all about alignment. 2 factors are (1) the individual (2) the environment. Mark uses his removal and replacement model (more on this coming soon).

[22:27] It’s about having people come together to build on each other’s strengths and ideas for a purpose bigger than themselves.

[23:20] What if everybody could understand the value of each other person individually. Additionally, this doesn’t make us less. We can still be great, and so can someone else in what they do the way they do it.

[27:00] Can strengths and talents from assessment results be written into a job description?

[30:00] Book recommendation: Traction

[32:30] The best sales peoples don’t necessarily = good sales managers

[35:00] The open office concept and some of the issues of the environment. The introvert / extrovert dilemma and finding the right balance so they can maximize their energy.

[40:30] How do you really learn? Everybody needs things a little different to perform at their best.

[41:50] Our global movement is to not just honor the individual, but to have individuals honor the individuality in others.
